Imperial Royal Guard

The best of the best. Those who have received the highest commendations and become known to the Council or Empress herself. The only way to become a Royal Guard is to work through the ranks of the Legion, accept an invitation to join the Seers, and perform well enough for the Empress to make a personal recommendation to the Imperial High Council on your behalf.
The Guard always numbers 100, plus the Guard Captain. New positions only open in the event of retirement or death. Save for these two events, the appointment is lifelong. In this position, one reports directly to the Empress or her Council for orders. Currently, the Royal Guard is headed by a retired general named Canicus Arquitius who has served the Empire for his entire life.
