The Currency of the Realm of Haygra

While referred to like the coins of old, which were made from the metals found in their name, it has been many years since metal was the main component in the currency of this Realm. A special arcane spell was developed allowing for the creation of purely magic coinage. These coins were all produced by the same spell and thus all share the same magical signature, to prevent counterfeit. The size of the coin and the amount of magic stored within determine the value of each coin. Creating Coinage is usually a punishment, as it permanently removes some of an individuals capability for magic, trapping it within the coin. In a severe emergency, platinum or electrum coins can be absorbed to refill spell slots, but it is highly dangerous and therefore does not happen often.
