Lord's Alliance

Rebuilding the cities of the old world after the Arcane Weld returned was no simple task, but if only the original inhabitants could see how they sparkle and shine under our new leadership. It is because of all of you that this monumental task was accomplished! - The First Open Lord of The Lord's Alliance in a speech to her citizens on the day of the countries founding.
The Lord's Alliance arose from the need to protect the various fledgling City-States rising around the Realm as the Realm was conquered at the start of the Era, but has since grown into a world power all its own. Each city in the alliance holds their own cultures and beliefs, but they are all unified by the desire to protect their fellow member-cities from harm, for many citizens still remember the nightly raids by would-be tyrants that plagued the early years of independence.   The People residing in these cities live lives of plenty, while small farming villages produce many of their needs for them. Trade and the Arts flourish in these cities, as most of the basic requirements for survival are fulfilled by the Lords of the cities. In the farming villages, life is much simpler. The people here live the simple lives of farmers, with apprentice arcanists and low level adventurers assigned to the villages for their defense from the still lingering Dungeon Mob hordes that stalk the land between settlements.

The Cities of The Lord's Alliance

Each of these Cities are independent from the countries surrounding them, usually entering lucrative trade agreements to keep the governments placated with their freedom.

Waterdeep

Ruler:
The Open Lord Laeral Silverhand
Continent: Majoria Centris
The City of Splendors, Waterdeep is the crowning jewel of The Lord's Alliance. The First of the Cities to declare freedom on Majoria Centris, Waterdeep is home to the representatives of the other Member Cities, and many noble families. Home to some of the largest events in the era, Waterdeep is always watched over by powerful adventurers as the chance to make their mark on the History of the Realm.

Neverwinter

Ruler:
Lord Dagult Neverember
Continent:
Majoria Centris
The City of Skilled Hands, Neverwinter is at the forefront of technological innovation. When The Candorian Empire arrived in Majoria Centris, they took to repairing the ancient cities that the Arcane War had left in ruins. Neverwinter was the first such revived metropolis, and the technological advances of the city led to rapid revival of the region. Now, the City is independent and is in an informal arms race with The Leylaren State as Arcanitech begins to dominate the world.

Riverside

Ruler:
Lord Bokan Cargshield
Continent: Adar'lac
The City of Wonder, Riverside was an immaculate city made of three tiers, floating off the ground. The City was home to one of the many displaced Dwarven Noble Families pushed out of The Stonemason's Republic when it reformed after The Second Arcane War, and was attacked at the start of The World War. The Taydau have devastated the Lord's Alliance soldiers in the city and have taken control of it thanks to the spurned heir of the Cargshield family pledging loyalty to The Taydau.

Banrania

Ruler:
Lord Jarlaxle Banrae
Continent:
The Freelands
The City of Freedom, Banrania was a recent addition to the Lord's Alliance. Residing in the island clusters known as The Freelands, Banrania is a city of privateers and revelry. Originally founded by The Verdant Gamblers as a temple to the God Jadar, the temple quickly had homes built around it, then inns and streets and the followers of Jadar flocked to the city. When the region was claimed by Pirates, the city of Banrania broke free and claimed independence from the piracy surrounding them. Now it is a flourishing home for lost souls down on their luck, as Jarlaxle Banrae leads the city to fortune and peace from the violence surrounding it on all sides.

Adventuring Life in The Lord's Alliance

Adventurers in The Lord's Alliance are treasured members of society, their skills useful in deterring other countries from attacking the Member-Cities. Thusly, Adventurers find generous support in their trade from the Lords, partnering with The Merry Makers to provide shelter to orphaned children and the other Pogarian Guilds can be found in all of the cities adventurer wards. Thousands of adventurers call the cities of The Lord's Alliance home, using the cities as their home bases as they travel between the Dungeons and hunt in the wilds.

The Undermountain

A Sprawling World Dungeon beneath the capital of the Lord's Alliance, Waterdeep. The Dungeon was constructed by a mad mage whos experiments with Nexus Points allowed him to shape a dungeon of his own design. This Dungeon was accidentally discovered when a tavern above it dug out a wine cellar, finding a massive pit leading down into the first levels of this dungeon. The Yawning Portal it was named, and adventurers flocked to the location, hoping to be the first to reach its deepest depths and plunder the ever growing hoard of the Dungeon's designer: Halaster Blackcloak.
