Thunderspotter

Assurance is the goal when starting from nothing. Thunderspotters provide a key point to that end. Their enhanced sense of awareness allows them to spot enemies quicker, and they know how to tell everyone else. And it’s not just enemies, thunderspotters also travel with just about any group of saurials. In fact, they are like a social trade route. Linking all the other subraces together and passing word to those who need it. A tribe of saurials without thunderspotters will quickly become disorganized and uncoordinated. Because of this, they often serve as scouts or captains, able to work with any other saurial in the tribe.
Appearance: Thunderspotters appear as the generic herbivorous dinosaurs. Anything from hadrosaurs to sauropods and ornithomimids are all considered thunderspotters. Often warning of dangers rather than directly engaging where possible. Many thunderspotters, especially hadrosaurs and some sauropods, have a crest. And all of them have a call. Consider what your call sounds like and what your crest looks like, if you have one. Many thunderspotters end up decorating their crests to show information such as rank, homeland, and what they oversee.
Ability Score Increase: You gain a +1 to Wisdom.
Call to Arms: You are adept at alerting others to danger. When you roll for initiative, if any ally within 60 feet of you is surprised, all allies within 20 feet of you gain temporary hit points equal to your proficiency modifier. These temporary hit points stack with any previous temporary hit points, unless it would bring those temporary hit points above an amount equal to twice your level. A creature can benefit from this ability once per short rest.
Frightening Shriek: As a thunderspotter, you have a responsibility to inform the enemy that picking a fight with you and your allies is a mistake. As an action, you can make a horrendous sound. All enemies within 15 feet of you must make a charisma saving throw equal to 8 + your proficiency modifier + your charisma modifier or be frightened of you for 1 minute. The frightened target can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a successful save. You can't use this trait again until you finish a short or long rest.
Herbivore: You use plant matter as the material component for your racial spellcasting.
