Inner Flame

Monks of the Way of the Inner Flame look inwards to the ki at their core and find it a flickering flame--a force that brings light, but also destruction. These monks use ki energy to take on the properties of flame--manipulating their body temperature, passing through flames untouched, and moving with flickering, unpredictable movements.

Phoenix Fists

3rd-level Inner Flame Feature
Beginning when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can summon burning flames of ki. As a bonus action, you can expend a number of ki points up to your Wisdom modifier to wreath your fists in fire for 1 minute. For the duration, your unarmed strikes deal an additional 1d4 fire damage for each ki point expended in this way.

Burning Defense

6th-level Inner Flame Feature
At 6th level, you learn to cloak yourself in defensive flames. As a bonus action, you can expend a number of ki points up to your WIsdom modifier to wreath your body in fire for 1 minute. For the duration, creatures that make melee weapon attacks against you from within 5 feet of you take 1d4 fire damage for each ki point expended in this way. Additionally, you shed bright light in a 30 foot radius and dim light for 30 feet beyond that. When you activate your Burning Defense, you can choose to also activate your Phoenix Fists as part of the same bonus action, expending separate ki points for each feature.

Temperance

11th-level Inner Flame Feature
At 11th level, you can modulate your body temperature with relative ease. At the end of a long rest, choose cold or fire damage. You have resistance to the chosen damage type until the end of your next long rest.

Wildfire Stance

17th-level Inner Flame Feature
At 17th level, you have learned to unleash your full flame. When your Burning Defense and Phoenix Fists features are active at the same time, their damage dice each increase to 1d6 per ki point expended. Source: Book of Monastaries
