The First Great Sabbath of the Witches Occurs

After the King of Beaks was killed during the Aeternys Invasion of Diponga, the Gold Beak-Crown was stolen by rebel forces of the Witch Island, disputed between Aternyans and Ripongans at the time. The aforementioned crown was a Destiny Artifact, which allowed the Witches to open a portal to Hell. This event was known as the Great Sabbath of the Witches at the time.

This event was one of the most devastating ones to the Planisphere at the time. Though the portal only remained open for five years, it was enough time for the Witches and the hellish armies to destroy several places. Differently from the Second Great Sabbath, the first one sought only to cause destruction and bring death and despair to the world.   Caught unprepared and not knowing how to deal with the demons, which were previously seen as rare monsters that rarely caused more than a few deaths or just misfortune, the Planispherian conventional armies, beasts and weaponry were unable to handle the massive demonic invading forces. To remedy this, several monster-hunters and mages were brought from all lands to fight the devils and close the portal.   This event would culminate in the Dark War, when said monster-hunters united forces in a single offensive against Witch Island and closed the portal, in 7021.
