Arboria
"Arboria has three layers. Arvandor's mostly fine, just bring hiking boots- and earplugs. Aquallor is endless ocean- you'll need to hitch a ride with someone or get really good at swimming- fast. Mithardir's a wasteland- nothing but bones and chalk. If anything of substance is there, I'll eat my hat."
-Kellen describing Arboria to the party.
The plane of Arboria, also known as Arvandor, is one of the Outer Planes in the Great Wheel cosmology. It is a plane of chaotic good alignment, representing a realm where individual freedom, joy, and the beauty of nature are paramount. Arboria is a place of vivid life and heightened emotion; its landscapes are lush and vibrant, often exaggerated versions of natural beauty, with rolling meadows, towering forests, and star-filled skies. This plane exudes a powerful sense of passion and intensity, where even the air seems filled with music- and the heaviness of ages.
Arboria reflects the values of artistry, liberty, and emotional expression. The plane is divided into layers, though only the first, Arvandor, is commonly known. This layer serves as both a divine realm and an afterlife for noble or heroic elves. It is a place of rest, renewal, and eternal celebration for souls aligned with chaotic good ideals. According to Kellen, Arboria's other two layers, Aquallor and Mithardir, represent the overwhelming power of the ocean and the treacherous desolation of the desert. The chaotic nature of Arboria doesn’t mean lawlessness, but rather, a rejection of strict order in favor of personal freedom and emotional truth. It’s a fitting destination for the party if they have any hope of recovering the Source of Winglong's Staff.
