Scroll Mechanics

-spell must be on the user's class' spell list to use scroll
-if the spell is a higher level than what the user could cast make a DC 10 + spell level spellcasting ability check
-if failed take a DC 10 Int save or roll on the mishap table
-scroll is consumed on use
-a wizard can copy a scroll to their spellbook by passing a DC 10 + spell level Arcana check, pass or fail the scroll is destroyed

Scroll Mishap Table
d6 mishap
1 Caster takes 1d6 force damage per spell level
2 Scroll effects a random target
3 Spell targets a random location within its range
4 Spell fizzles ineffectively
5 Caster suffers minor, comedic effect for 1d10 minutes
6 Spell activates 1d12 hours delayed after being cast, casts in direction of target if target has moved out of range
