Sister Tarekin

Sister Tarekin has been elected Headmistress of The Phrygian Sound and will remain Headmistress until the others hold a vote of no confidence. Since few other members have ambition other than being left alone, they are unlikely to ever muster such a vote. Under her leadership the clave has built several new buildings for research purposes and a small hostel to serve caravans. Most remain empty as she does not have the funds or ability to acquire materials or equipment, and there's no reason for larger caravans to ever visit Phrygia-by-the-Gap .   Though Sister Tarekin has a clear vested interest in the growth of the community, she is loathe to take sides in the political conflict between the Phrygian Farmers' Union and the Phrygian Progress Association , so her dreams of a larger facility go unrealized as of now. She has built a decent sized surgery, and the Southern Hatnell Band of the Krell Nation owes her many favors for the post battle medicine she has performed on them. She also has the willingness and ability to fuse flesh with synth and steel, though she's known to caution her patients that the results are often unpredictable.   Sister Tarekin is assisted by two mobile, semi-intelligent machines. The first she simply calls "Assistant," and helps her in the surgery. Assistant is four feet tall with two sets of tracks and has six appendages with varied hands - scalpels that never seem to get dirty, a light source, two sets of pincers, a circular saw, and so on. The second she calls "Memory," and it can play back any discussion that happened within ten meters of it. Memory is a 2-foot diameter sphere that floats three feet off the ground. The bulk its body is some sort of shiny, reflective synth. It has ten rings depressed into the synth; the rings glow various colors depending on whether it is recording, playing back, or both. Memory is always with Sister Tarekin.   Finally, it is worth noting that despite her advanced age (Sister Tarekin was old when your grandparents were plowing fields), she is not afraid to fight when necessary, and generally wears a set of retractable fist daggers.
