Phrygian Progress Association

The Phrygian Progress Association is the smaller of Phrygia-by-the-Gap's two political factions, but it's certainly the most active of the two. They believe that Phrygia-by-the-Gap can become a modern settlement and see the wealth and comfort of all its residents increase if only they make the right changes. The Progress Association has big plans, and has created a dozen or so committees for its roughly thirty active members and additional twenty or so inactive supporters (who regularly promise to attend meetings, but rarely do).  Their primary goals for Phrygia are:

• Fair laws, applied consistently without regard to person or privilege
• Cobblestone roads between common areas and homestead, including linkage to the trade road
• Public spending on a market area
• Maintained sewage troughs and an end to emptying slop jars in front of homes
• Taxes on land usage to fund improvements
• The use of numenera to provide heat, flowing water, and perhaps even a constant food source
• Public employees to maintain law and order, implement public works projects, and facilitate trade

So far they haven't accomplished any of these goals, but they have celebrated other victories; three families recently declared at a public meeting that they were supporting the Progress Association after losing livestock to raiders.
