The Palace of White Roses

The name is literal, you see.   A variety of white roses grow over most of its outer surface, embedded into the stone and ice. It's said that the First Tsar planted them himself, and they've let them grow wild ever since. My apartment in the palace had them growing around the window sill, and the way that the frost that coated them reflected the light in the early morning was something to behold...

The Palace is one of the oldest structures in Kalonisgrad, and as such has had many expansions and remodels over the centuries. While it's expanse pales in comparison to the royal palace in Salallón, it is no mere feat to navigate the Palace of White Roses.   To aid in understanding, the palace can functionally be split into six wings.    First, the most familiar to all outside the royal family, the keep. Named for the pre-Dracanomachi castle at the heart of the whole structure, around which the rest of the structure sprawls out from. While it could serve as a degensive fortification in a pinch, it would be unlikely to hold up against modern artillery, and attackers and defenders alike would find it difficult to fight around the rest of the palace purely from the keep itself.    The Artists Apartments, so named for their origin as a place for a cadre of artists-in-waiting to live and work with little break, now they serve as a place for guests to say. Or for storage, should it be needed.
