Oxar the Old One Character in The Palatial Realms | World Anvil

Oxar the Old One

Oxar the Old One, a Titan of ancient origin, rose to prominence as a harbinger of darkness, spawning the first generation of his progeny, the Dark Elves. His name echoes through the ages, marking the genesis of a species that would be forever entwined with the shadows.   In the crafting process that defined Titan reproduction, Oxar's children emerged with a darker hue, earning them the moniker of Dark Elves. However, with this creation, Oxar unwittingly bestowed upon his kin a vulnerability—their weakness to sunlight. This flaw became a defining feature, shaping the geography and lifestyle of Oxarion, one of the most populous regions in the known world.   Situated beneath the expansive Tail of Bruton, Oxarion shielded its inhabitants from the harsh rays of the sun, granting respite to the Dark Elves during most hours of the day. The rest of their time was spent indoors or, for those who preferred it, underground. Oxar's design had inadvertently created a realm where darkness reigned supreme.   As the eons passed, Oxar's once-amicable relations with other Titans soured. Motivated by a hunger for power, he distanced himself from his siblings, becoming cold and standoffish. This transformation unfolded during the Age of the Three Kingdoms, a time when Oxar found himself under the banner of the Legion. Frustrated by the constraints imposed by his Titan kin, Oxar decided to carve his own path, marking the end of the Age of the Three Kingdoms.   The decision to form Oxarion sparked a chain reaction, inspiring other factions to rise as independent entities, challenging the established order. Oxar's pursuit of power and autonomy cast a long shadow over the realms, reshaping the political landscape in ways that resonated through the ages.

Titan Talent: Monochrome

Oxars Titan Talent is colloquially known as Monochrome. All of its effects are not understood, however, it is said to be the most powerful Titan Talent. It creates a field of force around Oxar in which everything slows down under immense pressure. This will completely nullify the majority, only the most powerful can even reach Oxar when he is using this power. It has an alternate name: The Titan Killer. The reason for the nickname is that it is one of the only ways to kill a Titan that have been theorised The etymology of the name Monochrome is that when the power is active colour pigment is drained from everything within the effective range. It was an early dark elf name for the power that has stuck in modern common.

The Battle for Mejadins Tower

During the battle for Mejadins Tower Oxar unleashed his most powerful Monochrome. Hundreds of lesser demons stopped in their tracks. Both Baphomet and Yeenoghu were immensely weakened. This made it possible for Ormos, Oxar and Tiroxon to mop up and win the battle. Ormos and Tiroxon told Oxar they owed him for this. A debt he would sit on for many decades. The Battle for Mejadins Tower could have been the source of the wish Oxar had later to build an army and topple the world. He felt that the tower had not been protected, it sits as one of the most vital parts of the content, and yet entirely open to guests. To conquer the world in self-defence.
