The Emerald Enclave

The Emerald Enclave is a vast and loosely organized faction dedicated to preserving the balance between civilization and nature across Faerûn. Founded long ago in the Vilhon Reach, the Enclave has evolved into a widespread network of druids, rangers, and naturalists, all working toward a singular goal: ensuring that neither unchecked civilization nor rampant wilderness overtakes the other. By 1491 DR, the organization operates in secretive circles and scattered outposts, from the ancient forests of Cormanthor to the jungles of Chult, monitoring threats such as blights, unnatural incursions, and ecological disasters. Though its members prefer diplomacy and mediation over violence, they will take up arms when nature itself is at risk, striking swiftly to cull those who recklessly exploit the land.   While often seen as reclusive, the Enclave is not wholly removed from the world of politics and power. They have operatives stationed in Waterdeep, Baldur’s Gate, and Neverwinter, keeping close watch on rulers who seek to expand their empires at nature’s expense. They are particularly wary of excessive deforestation, magical disasters, and planar rifts—threats that can unbalance the natural order. Many of their highest-ranking members are powerful druids who commune with primeval forces, seeking guidance from the spirits of the land itself. Some cells of the Enclave are more militant, believing that civilization has already overstepped its bounds, while others act as mediators, fostering harmony between growing settlements and the natural world.   In 1491 DR, the Emerald Enclave faces an era of mounting challenges. With increased activity from the Feywild, elemental disturbances, and the resurgence of old evils, their efforts have become more vital than ever. The rekindling of the Spell Forge in Phandelver has caught their attention, as rumors of wild magic, arcane blight, and unnatural phenomena have begun to spread. Their emissaries—druids, rangers, and fey-touched wanderers—now move discreetly across the Sword Coast, assessing the situation. To the Enclave, the growing disruptions are more than mere arcane accidents—they may be symptoms of a greater imbalance threatening all of Faerûn.
