Tharden Rockseeker
Tharden Rockseeker, the middle of the three Rockseeker brothers, was a skilled miner and an accomplished explorer. Alongside with his brothers, he dedicated years of his life to uncovering lost Dwarven treasures and ancient mines, with Wave Echo Cave being their most significant discovery. Known for his pragmatism and fearlessness, Tharden had a deep passion for Dwarven history and took great pride in his heritage. He spent much of his time studying old Dwarven maps and collaborating with fellow explorers to rediscover long-forgotten sites of wealth and arcane power.
Tharden played a crucial role in mapping the route to Wave Echo Cave, gathering fragmented clues from ancient records and combining them with his own meticulous exploration. He and his brothers believed that restoring the lost Forge of Spells, which lay within the cave, would revitalize Dwarven power in the region and usher in a new era of prosperity. Tharden was the most practical of the brothers, often taking charge of securing physical locations and solving logistical challenges in their expeditions, which earned him a reputation as a steady hand in perilous situations.
Upon the discovery of Wave Echo Cave, Tharden was entrusted with securing its entrance while Gundren handled the alliance with the Owl Friends. Unfortunately, Tharden’s preparations were cut short when he was ambushed. Despite his combat prowess, he was overwhelmed by dark magic and dispatched in the first chamber of the mine. His body was left where he fell, discovered by the party on 22 Kythorn, 1491 DR.
Tharden’s death was a devastating blow to Gundren Rockseeker, who saw their efforts to reclaim the cave tainted by tragedy. His sacrifice, however, became a rallying cry for the Owl Friends, determined to claim the cave’s power for good.
