Celestialism
Celestialism is a form of neo-paganism in which celestial bodies, such as stars and planets, are worshipped as gods or the dwelling places of gods. Celestialism originated among the Nanmin Stellar Nomads some time in the late 23rd Century, and has since spread throughout human space.
Traditional Celestialists began as neo-pagans attempting to revive ancient religious practices from Earth, but their beliefs evolved with humanity's expansion into new star systems. They began to view various planets and stars as aspects of the gods they worshipped, much like how some ancient pagans associated the planets of the Solar System with their gods. Xeno Celestialists, on the other hand, believe that each star system possesses its own gods to be appeased and venerated, and believe that each major planetary body is, or is inhabited by, its own individual deity.
