The Hidden Phoenix Clan

The clan of the Hidden Phoenix is the clan that Dorak the Leopard had come from. Thus this is the clan where leadership traditionally hails from. It is called the Hidden Phoenix because the orcs used to hunt firebirds and they were an elusive bird. The current Warchief -- Warchief Unglak -- hails from this clan and is the leader of the Orcish Horde. But he's holding back the Horde, while the elders say they should expand into the Caucasus Mountains and take territory away from the Pelagasiri elves.   The Warchief does not want open warfare with the elves yet. He wants the orcs to be pulled together in one cohesive whole, and attacks by the elves aren't helping with this endeavor. However, War Marshall Gronark has other ideas about what to do about the elves. He wants to pull the orcs together to attack the elves and to drive them from their homes at any cost.

Elementalism

The school of Elementalism is located in Hidden Phoenix lands. The masters of the school are drow. And they are teaching orc, gnoll, and troll students the way of Elementalism. The approach is to learn the elements from a magical, philosophical point of view. Although the shaman are students of the elements, they approach the elements from a Channeling point of view.   Orcs make poor arcanists at best. However, there is a movement to understand the elements from an arcane point of view. Orcs have learned the power of the Essence from the drow. But even today, there are a few who take the path of the elementalist. These orcs could not understand shamanism and the path it took to become a shaman, so they became elementalists instead.   There are six elements that the elementalist can choose to follow. Light, Air, and Earth form the material triad. And Fire, Water, and Ice form the temperature triad. Elementalists are taught at a school in Hidden Phoenix lands. There are a few orcs which can manipulate the triads together, but they are also very rare. The ways to understand the elements from a scientific and philosophical point of view is not readily accepted among most orc clans, who prefer the way of the shaman.
