Ranger
For those who relish the thrill of the hunt, there are only predators and prey. Be they scouts, trackers, or bounty hunters, rangers share much in common: unique mastery of specialized weapons, skill at stalking even the most elusive game, and the expertise to defeat a wide range of quarries. Knowledgeable, patient, and skilled hunters, these rangers hound man, beast, and monster alike, gaining insight into the way of the predator, skill in varied environments, and ever more lethal martial prowess. While some track man-eating creatures to protect the frontier, others pursue more cunning game—even fugitives among their own people.
Rangers are semi-spell users that are typically at one with the environment. They are typically spiritual and gain their power from Nature. Rangers are spell users that typically are of Channeling. They typically get spells that deal with nature and the weather.
Other than fighters, rangers (sometimes called hunters) were the first of the Horde. The gnolls, which have been on the hunt since the dawn of the world, had taught the path of the ranger to the orcs. Invaluable was the teaching that the orcs learned how to hunt and survive the winter. The gnollish composite bow was taught to the orcs. Along with making accurate shots and aiming well. Now, the orcish horde learned how to hunt in the wild. When the jungle trolls of the Eternal Mountain Caste and other tribes joined the Horde, they brought their techniques with them.
Hunting is a pasttime enjoyed by the Horde. Whether orc, gnoll, troll, or drow; horde rangers have been acting as trackers, scouts, and bounty hunters. Some rangers are able to gain an animal companion to help them hunt or to repesent their ties to nature. Such animal friends have been predatory in nature, but non-predator friends are possible.
