Hold it within your hand for 30 seconds and it will activate and begin emitting clear silver light akin to a torch's illumination. The light will stay until once again held within a hand or 6 hours have passed.

History

One of the earliest creation of the Artisans Guild, starstones were once quite common but since the Fall they have been highly sought after and their number has grown scarce. A creation of the Guild before the first Forge was built. By the time Tol Vivicor had been constructed Starstones were the illumination of choice for the affluent or rich.
