Jax's Thimble

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Once a Moon, Jax's Thimble will grant the bearer good luck. Could be at a toss of the dice, could be while treasure hunting or while trying to escape prison.   There is a rumor that if a family carries it for generations then when it is lost from that family then the generations of good luck shall be balanced out but that has never been confirmed

History

A creation of the Imperial Forge at Tol Vivicor, Jack's Thimble is a minor if usefull magic item. Crafted in 215 BF for a third son of Emperor as a gift to celebrate recieving a commission in the Imperial Legions. Jax would use it to save the life of his General during the Battle of Delvinar (214 BF). He would use it throughout his life, but only at great need for he feared, most likely correctly, that others would seek to claim it for their own use.   For 7 Generations the descendents of Jax kept it and used it at great need. Until Jerl. Jerl gave it as a gift to the newly appointed Provincial Governor, Isabella Reving, in a gamble to be appointed to her court when she took control of her Province. Before such an appointment could be made, Jerl fell from his horse and broke his neck. Rumor was the generations of good luck were balanced that day.   Isabella Reving granted it as a Writ Token to the first Duke of Lann, Aiden Bryne who passed it to his daughter when she came of age and so on down the generations. Whenever the eldest child came of age it was granted to them. Always along the path of inheritance. It was presumed lost when the the Order of the Crescent Moon and the Duchy of Lann was disolved in 375 AF following the Zevenox Invasion and the postumous trial of Duke Alusair Bryne.
