Unofficial Missions Tradition / Ritual in The Offenders' Neighborhood | World Anvil

Unofficial Missions

Unofficial Missions are a tradition done by The Birds family. This is something similar to a pre-test. These are a way to test and prepare for The Exams. However, these missions are real missions, and there are chances for real life consequences.

History

These Unofficial Missions have been in The Birds family ever since The Utter Embarrassment of 595. The team failed so badly their names were wiped clean from every Aves family record. Through the years, their failure has been forgotten and turned into something of a family legend. The only factual thing left of them now are the number of letters in their names.

The Unofficial Missions were put into use later that year to prevent something like that failure happening again. Although, there has not been an Utter Embarrassment like that of 595, there have been several embarrassing and gruesome incidents during the history of these Missions.

During the first five or so years of the Missions the Aves experienced a slum in their criminal teams. This was because many of the members did not pass the Missions and consequently could not partake in The Exams until a later date.

However, the Aves children finally started taking the Unofficial Missions seriously and during these past couple of years the Aves family has been turning out fairly well-rounded criminal teams.

Participants

Typically one team-in-training goes at a time along with two chaperones. These chaperones will oversee the Unofficial Mission and give guidance when they feel it's necessary. However, they are not allowed to step in if the team-in-training were to get caught.

The Unofficial Mission is chosen by the team's trainer, who chooses a mission based on the team's weak points. The judge of how well the trainer picked the challenge will be the chaperones.

The team-in-training will prepare for the mission and will fulfill it to the best of their abilities. After the Mission is finished the chaperones, the trainer, and the leader will discuss the results of the Mission.

Observance

The Unofficial Missions take place two weeks before The Exams.

Cool article I love how it came about just because of a epic failure

Let's have fun creating the impossible, building new worlds, and all types of possibilities. Valcin
