The Inside Sea is the part of the ocean contained within the Cluster Islands archipelago.
Although the water between any two points of land can be termed a gap, when people speak of the Gaps they usually are referring to the expanses of ocean beyond the well-traveled routes around the Cluster Islands.
Depending on context, "the ocean" can refer to either the body of water surrounding all islands in the Cluster and the Gaps, or the entirety of the explored world.
