Gua and Dwa

Gua and Dwa are pet ducks, a convalescent gift to Trivyu from Heiras Nemaiklo.  Since the tkevsa 1) have no domesticated animals and 2) hunt birds for food, the fact that Trivyu keeps small birds but refuses to eat them marks him as peculiar.

Personal history

Thinking to amuse a young tkevsa who was recovering from serious injury, Heiras brought a pair of duck eggs that were near hatching and presented them to him. He had enough sense to tell that she would be horribly upset if he ate the eggs, so he protected them as she seemed to want him to do. After they hatched, Heiras showed him how to care for the ducklings, which he continued to do even after he was released from medical care. He named the ducks "Gua" and "Dwa" as approximations of their quacking sounds.

Employment

The ducks are primarily Trivyu's companions, but as mature hens they produce eggs on a regular basis. This unexpected benefit has quieted some of the tkevsa who disdain him.
