He was a secret child. His grandfather was one of Papa's best friends. His father was a talented but rebellious guy and his mom was a servant. The couple eloped, got married in secret and had their son on a very remote planet where they were hiding until they eventually got found and killed by the Syndicate. Alex was only 6 years old then. His grandfather raised him after that, until his death.
