1.2 Greenhouse

This room reeks of stagnant water and decaying vegetation. A long trough of water runs along the walls of this room; a layer of brown scum and algae grows on the water’s surface and on the walls. A single workstation sits in the middle of the room connected to a large machine made of tubes and bubbling tanks of water. Sitting on a mold encrusted "throne" is a very human-looking vegypygmy. He isn't alone as you see movement from behind the various overgrown planters. The "king" pygmy wields a hammer that glows a faint blue. What do you do?
VRILLEDT, self-proclaimed king of the vegypygmies, is here along with a Vegepygmy Horde. He names his tribe the Red Tribe. If possible he will communicate with the party and let them pass and even trade his magic hammer away if they will either A) lead him to The Garden (hydroponic deck) or back to the Earth. Kwalish will not allow these creatures to leave the station, so if a deal is struck, the PCs will need to find another way down. The colouration of this tribe is summer (red). He is also willing to trade other magic items he has with newcomers, and he values plant or insect based items (even if they are minor magic items) as if they were rare magic items in terms of trade value. For a significant task/favour (for example, helping the tribe defeat a predator) he will give his allies the Legacy of Dreams.   The human carcas that created the pygmies are also here and have the treasure. They are covered in mould and have holes in their chests - where the vegypygmies burst out. However, they are arranged in such a way to indicate they are revered by the vegypygmies not discarded husks. Vrilledt is a Vegepygmy Chief with the following changes:
  • He has 50 hps.
  • He has 1 legendary action which he can use to make one attack of his choice.
  • Replace his spear attack with the following:
  • Magic Hammer. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage, or double that vs constructs.
Morale If Vrilledt's morale breaks (morale of 8), Vrilledt surrenders and begs for mercy, knowing that should he die, his spores die as well. He offers all his treasure as tribute to the PCs, and may even be convinced to aid them in defeating the robots, but the longer any alliance with the vegepygmy lasts, the more likely it is that he seizes an opportunity to betray the PCs.   Treasure. The four bodies of a previous expedition, while in advanced stages of decay and fungal infestation, do hold some treasures for the PCs. All four possess silver holy symbols of Brighworth 25 gp each. Three of the bodies carry masterwork light hammers. The armor worn by another is a suit of masterwork chainmail that hasn’t yet been ruined. The final body, once the leader, still wears a ring of protection +1 and carries a belt pouch, inside of which are three fungus-encrusted (though still viable) potions of greater healing. In addition, 3d6+6 gp 3d6+6 may be found on each body. There is also the magic hammer wielded by Vrilledt known as DARK AIRLESS DOMAIN.
THE FURNACE He is a light mace ashen (magic), with a head sculpted to resemble a fierce panther and a small ideogram (dragon) in the pommel-- this is some mace. If the wielder has a certain tattoo (Brigh), they may gain the additional benefit of the Construct Bane trait doing double damage to constructs. Cursed wielders get a further +2 to hit and damage. Worth 4,000/750 gp/xp but double the gp value to worshipers of Brigh.
