Session #16

General Summary

Ephyra, Tobeon, Kae, and Bane all made use of Kae's generous offer to mass-teleport the entire party back to the Hamlet of Idling. Once there, they rejoined their companion Nilsa. After informing Ednea of their mission's success, the party heard that the High Regent Reginald was in the nearby town of Northam. Still desiring to bring an end to the schemes of Constable Reeves, the party decided to bring their proof and plead their case to the High Regent.

Along the way to Northam, the Ephyra, Tobeon, Kae, and Nilsa decided to side track to hunt down some slurges, much to the amusement of Bane who watched from a tree. The heroes were disgusted by the thick mucus which oozed from the slurges, but were spurred on by the thought of their delicious meat and very tough shells. Thanks to some creative thinking on the adventurers part and some decidedly heavy punches from Tobeon, they killed the slurges and obtained the valuable meat and shells. The adventures now decided to sent Kae in to town accompanied by Bane using his invisibility cloak.

Once in town, Kae obtained an audience with the High Regent Reginald, and after showing him the ledger persuaded the Regent to pardon the group and do something about Constable Reeves schemes. Although the High Regent pardoned the group from Constable Reeves bounties, he reminded Kae that the group had technically committed a host of other crimes in his realm.

High Regent Reginald then offered the group a choice; they could join his army and face an assault on his northern border, they could set up an outpost nearby Northam to help defend it, or they could leave his realm and not return. After Kae and Bane returned to the rest of their party, they discussed what their futures should be.

Tobeon was much disgusted to have been drawn inadvertently into committing crimes. After some back and forth, the party agreed to stay and build a community near Northam. The entire party then went back to the Regent who gave them the forested area outside of Northam to fortify as they saw fit.

It seemed The Hooded One, the leader of the bandits, was friends with the Regent and would accompany him to the war in the north. Therefore, the bandit group needed leadership and would work with the adventurers to create their own outpost.
