Meg Maldur

Location on the far east coast, a dwarven city.

Approach

The vast city of Meg Maldur is easily overlooked from anywhere but the entrance on the sea side. It's well hidden underground, being a well defended city that can easily outlast a siege for decades.   Standing on the cliffs, you would have little idea that a living and thriving city lies underneath you. The waves crashing on the beach, the wind in your face blows away any remains from the large and heavy machinery that the dwarves use underneath you.   Looking at the entrance, you feel almost small in comparison. The main entrance, easily 50 foot high, is carved out of the face of the cliffside. With the sea behind you, the fresh air blowing in from behind you, you peer out onto the largest and cleanest set of stairs your eyes have ever laid eyes upon. Torches every 15 feet illuminate the path before you, as it decends at least 500 feet before splitting into 2 large turns, with ahead of you a large railing overlooking the massive underground expanse that is Meg Maldur.

City

The City of Meg Maldur is divided into separate districts that each mainly focus on their own aspect.

Smiths Quarter

The smiths quarter works on the large smithing hammers. Tapping into the rich lava flow underneath, they use that heat to run their forges. The hammers are thermal powered and can slam down with great power, allowing even the hardest of metals to be forged and molded into shapes.

Enchanters Quarter

Although perhaps a little strange, an important district within Meg Maldur is the enchanters district. They go above and beyond to improve the already high quality of the crafted items, by making them virtually indestructable. A process which, while incredibly expensive, does add to the final product. Can you imagine mining with a pickaxe that never loses its sharpness?

Miners Quarter

Speaking of pick axes, the miners quarter isn't where the mining happens. In this quarter, the ore that has been mined is being refined, the stone separated from the raw metal, formed into ignots and other useable materials.

Worshippers quarter

A large part of Meg Maldur is dedicated to the worshipping of Gond, the Wonderbringer and the God of the Forge.
