HOT ROD, aka RODIMUS PRIME
Spark burning for justice, Rodimus Prime is here to lead towards victory!
As energetic and bold as his name would suggest, Hot Rod is leaping into the experience of being at the Academy with the same attitude with which he tackles most new things: enthusiasm. His creator Kup is one of the history teachers, growing instantly popular with a group of kids calling themselves the Wreckers, which leaves him feeling a little left out, as if he can’t even live up to the charisma of his own creator. That hasn’t stopped him from making friends, and with Arcee and Springer at his side, he’s ready to tackle the world, or at least that crazy emo Deadlock. His size 2 racecar frame naturally runs rather hot, so he usually ditches some outer armor, something he’d continue to do even if the Academy instituted a dress code.
Upon being exposed to a third-hand burst of power from the Matrix of Leadership by Sentinel Zeta Prime, Hot Rod erupts with power and upgrades into Rodimus Prime, a hotheaded front-line fighter named in honor of Optimus Prime, the one who allowed him to be an Autobot. Taking cues from the other members of the faction, he stands up against injustice from all corners, most commonly the Decepticons. When working with the Elite Guard, Elita 2 is his go-to partner, and the both of them cause mischief for everyone. His powers include supernatural physical resilience, strength belied by his size, cannons that double as flamethrowers, boundless energy, and explosive pyrokinesis that can melt his enemies in seconds. He’s always raring for a fight, be it a good-natured spar or duking it out on the battlefield, but the sight of his rival Drift means he will refuse any other opponents until he’s gotten to confront him.
TECH SPECS:
Not every youngling would appreciate having their parent be one of their teachers, but Hot Rod really does love hanging out with Kup.
