Alexandria Athena Vulcan screamed her way into this world on a cloudy, overcast, Vancouver night on the 31st of October, 2002. Her father pronounced her "perfect" and danced around St Pauls hospital with the tiny, slip of a girl, until he misstepped on his leg brace and crashed though two empty beds, and buried his head into the plaster wall. Alex was unharmed and Heffe Vulcan swore he did that on purpose. Delilah Vulcan said the only thing intentional about that fall was his choosing to land on something he couldn't hurt; his head.
Alex's childhood was fairly normal for the fact that she could fix the DVR by 4 and rewire an Indian Motorcycle by 6. Her father was always there when she wanted to take something apart, whether it was the toaster at 3, her father's motorcycle at 6 or Jimi Hendrix's guitar at 12. But he was disappointed if she couldn't put it back herself, which was rare and Alex can only recall it happening once, when she was 7. She loathed the disappointed look on her father's pocked face and swore to never see it again, and she never has.
Heffe "Hef" Vulcan thought his daughter was perfect, and the only reason he looked disappointed was that she gave up. The look urged her to new heights and she redoubled herself and figured it out. Hef was never prouder, except he was, every day prouder than the last.
Alex grew up as sort of the shop mascot (her father runs a motorcycle repair and storage shop) and teethed herself on a 19 mm wrench. She was given her first set of tools for her 5th birthday, a 250 piece Craftsman tool cabinet which she has to this day.
When Alex was 4, a lonely widower and his 4 year old daughter, Amanda, moved in across the park from the Vulcans, beginning Alex's rocky BFF. sometimes more, relationship with Mandy Callypso.
In middle school, Mandy, the most popular girl in school, was introduced to Jesse Phillipseni the most popular boy, and though Jesse began their relationship with a flirt, it never took off that way and Alex, Mandy, Jesse and Jesse's cousin, Sven were a foursome to be feared. The two most popular kids, the smartest kid and the toughest kid all hanging together.
When Jesse began the Jesse Hendrix Experience, the others were his biggest fans. When Mandy ran for Student President, the others handed out fliers. When Sven tried out for the seniors football team, the others were there in the bleachers, and when Alex got her mechanics licence they were there too.
The first year in High School introduced them to John Gotti. No, not that John Gotti, that John Gotti's son. The Teflon Don finally lost his no stick surface in 2014, and his wife Mona, and their 12 year old son disappeared from the scene. They resurfaced 4 years later in Canada, when John Jr was enrolled in Gladstone Secondary. That was the beginning of the rocky part of Mandy and Alex's relationship, because Mandy was all over the bad boy image like a bitch in heat. John is ok, as far as Alex is concerned, his "bad boy" reputation is totally unearned and he is really a nice guy, who doesn't have any clue what to do about Mandy.
Jesse is playing a concert at the school dance tonight and Alex has come along to be supportive, it is their Birthday...all of them. You might think that is strange but they have simply come to accept that it is a sign of their greater destinies.

Since she was 14, and got her Social Insurance Number, Alex has been employed by Vulcan Motorcycles, where she makes $22 an hour.

Alex is a fully licenced Heavy Duty, Light, motorcycle and autobody mechanic and is working on an advanced physics course for her Master's degree.
Intellectual Characteristics
Alex usually is the smartest person in the room, though nobody feels stupid around her. She is not the sort to flaunt her superior intellect, but neither is she one who will sit idly by and let falsehoods be taught. Alex is quick to call bullshit, and quicker to call it bullshit in so many words. She does not mince words, and is always ready to tell it how it is. She does not give false platitudes.
