PPE-01 "Dora" Plasma Pistol

The PPE-01 Plasma Pistol, also known as the "Dora" Pistol, is an energy weapon conceived by Captain Dora of the Cincastrella Confederacy intended for use by naval officers and crew as a light but very powerful anti-personnel weapon in boarding actions. Using a miniaturized version of the same technology that goes into man portable plasma guns, and the even more advanced plasma rifles, it packs a good deal of power in a small package. It is made through the reverse engineering of a fair number of Pardian technologies, and remains a unique experimental weapon with only a handful of examples in existence at this time. One such example is currently being used by the crew of the SS Good Times, as a payment for their services rendered on Chang-Er.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Dora Pistol is essentially a miniaturized version of any other plasma gun existing the wider galaxy. It houses a plasma collector that "breathes" in small amounts of particulate matter from the atmosphere which is used to charge the miniature fusion reactor at the heart of the weapon, as well as giving it material to propel. When fired, the weapon discharges a stream down a series of of superheated plasma at the target at incredibly high speeds. The impact of the plasma "bolt" when impacting a target is extremely devastating, akin to a shotgun slug or high power rifle blast.

Manufacturing process

The current manufacturing process for the PPE-01 is a relative unknown as the few that are known to currently exist were personally constructed by a handful of skilled artisans directly under the direction of Captain Dora of the Cincastrella Confederacy. There are hopes to expand to full production in the near future however, once the process of making new PPE-01s is refined.
