The Life takers

The most psychotic and psychopathic bandit group in the new frontier.

Structure

The Life takers have a loose hierarchy, but they do have a leader who is rarely seen outside the Charnel house so even most of the other bandit leaders have never seen her. But what is known is the leader of the Life takers is an old woman the other Life takers call granny.

Culture

The Life takers are a shadowy group who specialize in stealth and are usually rogues and assassins. They are known for being the cruelest gang and are feared and mistrusted even by the other bandits of Luxury Meadows. Even among the other bandits and slavers of Luxury Meadows the Life Takers are especially cruel and have a well-earned reputation of being psychopaths.
The Life takers like to take trophies from their victims. Their home base is decorated with death and the Life takers often wear armor and masks out of their victims' bones or skin. The Life takers celebrate death, inflicting pain and fear in others and are less interested in the loot they get from being bandits and more on how much suffering they can inflict on others.

History

The Life takers are a shady group, little is known about their history, before they came to Luxury Meadows many thought they were ghost. Travelers and homesteaders would just disappear, villagers and towns people would find their neighbors gone or dead and cut into pieces, sometimes with nothing of any value taken. It is also not fully known how the commission's godfather contacted the Life takers or the full terms of the deal, but it happened, and the Life takers have moved into Luxury Meadows.

Territories

The Life takers are based out of what they have named the Charnel house that was once a pre-Conflux mansion. In the pre-Conflux time, the Charnel house was home to one of the most famous pop singers in the world, and ironically considering what happens in the house after the Conflux the former owner was a humanitarian.
The Charnel house is some were even the other bandits tend to avoid first the life takers make the other bandits uneasy, that and how the life takers have decorated the charnel house. The life takers decorate their home with the remains of their victims like, making furniture from human skin and bones, bowls out of skulls, flute made of bones and other things that will make any normal person fill disgust.

Mythology & Lore

It is not known if it is true but there is an old story of the founder of the Life takers was ones just a man name Edward Friendly who was born on a homestead to a family of poor farmers. Not much is known about his birth family or childhood, but young Edward is said to have lived off the land making an honest living doing manual work with the rest of his family. One day Edward Friendly began to have nightmares of blood, gore and death, these nightmares at first frightened Edward but as he kept having the same dreams he began to delight in the images of blood and gore. In Edwards dreams there was always an old woman in black wearing a necklace of ears who in one of his dreams told him to meet in a cave away from his home. Edward left his home and traveled for days to meet this old woman from his dark dreams, and he found the old crone just where she said she would be in his dreams. When Edward found the old crone from his dreams, she only gave him the name of Granny Friendly. Granny Friendly took young Edward under her wing to teach him to give in to all his psychopathic instincts and to find and recruit others like himself. The life takers grew from that until one day Edward and Granny Friendly just disappeared. The Life takers to this day still honor Granny Friendly hoping that she will give them more power.
