Like other primates Dire Baboons live in troops or mobs of a few dozen to up to three hundred that are led by the males that are the biggest and have the biggest and shiniest objects. In large troops of dire baboons, the males will gather in hunting and raiding mobs that will band together to take down prey for the rest of the troop or raid other baboon troops or occasionally human settlements. Dire baboon's mobs will attack settlements to still food, livestock and more it is not unheard of that a dire baboon hunting mob to wipe out a settlement eating all the settlers. To stop this many small or isolated settlements will leave food and shiny objects as a bribe to not attack the settlement.
The leaders of dire baboon troops are the biggest and strongest males, the alpha baboon will gather a hoard of shiny objects to show their status in the troop and harems of females to breed with.
