Masters of unlocking magic in everyday objects, artificers are supreme inventors. They see magic as a complex system waiting to be decoded and controlled. Artificers use tools to channel arcane power, crafting temporary and permanent magical objects. To cast a spell, an artificer could use alchemist’s supplies to create a potent elixir, calligrapher’s supplies to inscribe a sigil of power on an ally’s armor, or tinker’s tools to craft a temporary charm. The magic of artificers is tied to their tools and their talents.
Nothing excites an artificer quite like uncovering a new metal or discovering a source of elemental energy. In artificer circles, new inventions and strange discoveries create the most excitement. Artificers who wish to make their mark must innovate, creating something fresh, rather than iterating on familiar designs.
This drive for novelty pushes artificers to become adventurers.

In The Nameless Trilogy World
When the modern era began, it brought a wide range of new possibilities. Magic and technology met and started to supplement each other. Steam locomotives replaced horse and buggy on most major highways, and new lightning trains combining magic with technology soon replaced conventional steam. Airships no longer required blimps to achieve flight; flight wheels or captured elementals could achieve the same goal. And every day, new inventions make life in the city more comfortable for even the poorest of people.
All of this is thanks to the artificer, inventors who do not think magic and technology should be mutually exclusive. One part craftsman, one part wizard, entirely inquisitive, artificers do not shy away from an honest challenge of pushing the boundaries of technology. Many simple inventions, such as the lamps that light our streets, or the feather tokens of Mythal Thalore, or the glammerweaves used in modern theatre are all inventions of artificers.
The artificer is a fascinating class with a lot of capability. You could be an Alchemist making various potions or a Battle Smith with a faithful steel defender on the battlefield. Like the gunslinger, an Artillerist creates new armaments and deploys them on the battlefield with great effect. How did you choose this lifestyle? What is your end goal to all of these creations? And how do you feel about the possibility of these inventions being used for purposes other than what they were designed for?
