Drimotia - The Summit

What's the highest summit in your world? Has anyone ever reached the top?

The peak of Drimotia- the mountain which houses the Ursine capitol- is a storied, sacred, and deadly place. Reaching up 43,548 feet, past the clouds entirely, it is a place no one has been. At such heights, even Avians would be unable to breathe.
It is said that Bear, the Patron Spirit of the Ursine people, sleeps atop the mountain. That if any could possibly reach her, it would be possible to converse with her. However, since no one ever has, she slumbers, and watches over her people while she dreams. It is a holy place, and when the summit can be seen on clear days many take time to drink in the mountain's beauty, try to spot Bear at the top, and pray.
Many have died trying to reach the summit. Some tried to acclimate to air without enough oxygen and asphyxiated. Some got caught up in deadly storms. Others buried by avalanches. A select few who made it to the sheer ice cliffs where the air begins to thin either slipped to their doom or fell into deep fissures in the ice.
And yet there will be more fools who will attempt the impossible- for the prize of timeless and bottomless wisdom has an allure which tempts all. The truly wise consider it poetic that Bear is entirely out of mortal reach, and that the wise thing to do is not to try and reach her.
