The Milky Way Galaxy

It's been seven thousand years since humanity was forced to migrate from a suffering Earth. But we are not alone in the galaxy; for a menagerie of Sophont species live throughout the Milky Way. Some are friends with humanity, others are enemies, and some are just neutral. But that doesn't cover the countless species of extraterrestrial flora and fauna.   How does one explore the galaxy? A good spaceship and a Zoomdrive, a special computer used for calculating safe routes through the Zoomspace to achieve faster-than-light travel. Thankfully, spaceships are a dime a dozen here. Making travel to distant worlds as casual as going on vacation. Though spaceships have been used for industrial or war purposes, among other uses.   But that's just a brief introduction. There's a whole galaxy awaiting you to explore! Just get a crew, a Zoomdrive, a sturdy spaceship, and your adventurous spirit to take your first step from your homeworld. But beware of space pirates and other outlaws. They can be a nasty bunch.
