When entering battle, he always places his sword on top of his shield to honor his father's fighting style.

As a young Militia soldier, Peter and his friend were sent to assist a farmer who lived outside the town. On the scouting mission, the Barbarians attacked them. In his indecision, the farmer was killed before he could get medicine. This also sparked his rivalry with Baelze, the barbarian leader. Peter also fails to save his father from a barbarian raid. Although this was the final fight with the Barbarians, Everard was killed and bled out in Peter's arms.
