Staff profile—Professor Martin Debruyne
The very top physician-researcher in the whole of France and a professor at the University of Lille.
Professor Debruyne comes from a family dedicated to medicine and full of physicians and surgeons. What is especially interesting about them is that they healing magic is not that strong and that they instead rely on a deep understanding of the human body and of the mechanisms of disease.
This has naturally led many of them to become researcher and pioneer in medical treatments. Our professor Debruyne is no exception to this and he has had an exceptional career at the University of Lille, only interrupted with a remarkable service in the army during the Spanish Wars during which he overhauled war medicine and military health division.
When His Majesty was still president of our university, he convinced this distinguished professor to share his impressive knowledge and experience with the very best students of the officer tracks. Prof. Debruyne obviously expects all such students to show the utmost respect for his time and dedication to their study.
