The King's Knightmare
The King's Knightmare (Galvis: drè Erlbram fèr Rigterr) fulfills a lot of roles. It gives the Richterland of Galeo an easy scapegoat whenever something goes wrong. It gives the Hoofkin of the nation something to aspire to (or to reject). It gives the people something to deride...or something to join in search of hope.
Hogwash or host? Force for good or force for evil? Long-gone and legendary or current and confidant? It seems any attempt to learn about the Knightmare creates more questions than it answers.
Pretender or True Heir?
As the Legend of Galgom Rock and other founding myths of the Galvan nation would attest, the Hoofkin of northern Algonas trace their lineage to Gallon Bliebl, the ancient ancestor of the current Richter. Others take the opposite view, dismissing the faction as a figment of the nobility's imagination. Regardless, whatever the truth is will undoubtedly be tested sooner rather than later, as the Richterland is currently navigating a difficult transition period and the number of reports of any sort continues to grow...

The King's Knightmare has been implicated in a variety of crimes in central and eastern Galeo. Travellers robbed by bandits along the main road between Marmark and Zeslendy have reported that they were led by a Hoofkin that matches many descriptions of Virren Bliebl. Simultaneously, a group of roaming Hoofkin in the north near Blatval claimed under duress that they were searching for Virren in that area. Then there was the fiasco at Finster a couple of summers ago...Believed Hideouts
In addition to the places mentioned above, the King's Knightmare might have proponents in most major cities of the nation. Rumours also claim that the Dunklèn Prairie is another one of their favoured haunts. It would stand to reason that Virren is not to be found at every one of these places, but the hope for the crown is that he is at the next one that they discover and search...Remove these ads.
