Schintian Skiff

Gliding down the canals of Losgate, you see a plethora of brightly-coloured boats. They are rather small, but they have sharp painted prows and appear to be moving people down the watery streets of the city. They're intriguing, and you see one of them break from the group and a young man throw a small rope ladder from the boat onto the sides of the canal. The trio of passengers in the boat climb out, and then the boat sails towards your group.

Ferry Ships

These bright coloured boats are the major source of transport for the richer denizens of Losgate. Their thin look and speed make them much more manageable in the canals than rowboats. Their sailors, called skiffmen, are commonly a delight and a great resource if one is searching for a location within the city.
Anyone looking to hire one for a short trip should expect to pay a silver piece or similar for a one-way trip. Anyone who needs the services of a personal skiffman for longer than a few hours will likely expect to pay in gold for their services.

Propulsion

A Schintian skiff is propelled by a large pole, which is used to push the boat along the bottom of the canal. A skiffman can also use the flat bottom of the boat to carefully push it from side to side as required.
