Jing of the Caravans

As you walk into the plaza, you immediately hear the hoarse sound of a hawker. "Wooden toys!" You turn towards the sound of the sound, only to see a small Frost Dwarf rummaging through a set of wooden blocks to give to a small child and his stern-looking parent. He disarms the parent with a smile, and in a few moments the child is throwing blocks at a nearby tree and the parent is several copper pennies poorer.
The dwarf is finishing haggling with another dwarf when you walk up. "Jing sells wooden treasures to anyone with money. What do you want?" he asks stiltedly.

Identifying Characteristics

People who look at Jing's hands will notice that his fingers are a little bit long for the average dwarf. There is also a very obvious indigo birthmark on his neck.

Apparel & Accessories

He tends to wear bright clothes, if a little dirtied by his travels on the roads and tracks of the Eleikar Valley. His favourite colour is green, and he finds some way of getting into green clothes every day.

Personal history

Jing was orphaned at a young age, so he picked up whittling in order to make money. He quickly became incredibly skilled, whittling toys and woodcuts that were so detailed that it got the interest of the Lord of Wilderdên. The well-known patron of the arts made him his personal woodworker until he died a few year ago. After that, his son was less accepting of the toymaker and Jing took his business on the road. Becoming Jing of the Caravans, he wanders from town to town, making toys and spreading joy...for a small price, of course.

Morality & Philosophy

Jing's greatest joy is making people laugh. While these people are mostly children, the toys often make adults' lives a little easier. Joy makes him joyful, basically.
