Everyone always makes a list of the High King's kin, his advisors, his generals; their pedigree and positions are always highly esteemed. But what of the crucial aspect of the royal court, his Royalness's pet?

As the biographer above describes, most of the attention in the High King of Frecrest's court is dedicated to his immediate family, his relatives, and the multitude of advisors and military leaders that help keep his kingdom safe in a dangerous world. But on one particular day, this entire multitude of people were completely irrelevant. For it was Inram, the High King's prized pet falcon, that saved the day.

The Royal Line

The Kingdom of the Falcon was named on a whim; the ancient Imrakans enjoyed the usage of birds of prey while hunting as long back as records go. The first High King to unite the various Inrakan bands made sure to establish his famously large falcon as the head of its own "royal line." All birds descended from it have a particularly rare navy-blue pigment that appears to be completely unique to their pedigree. It is from this line that all royal falcons have been descended in a direct path from that day to this. Inram is the most recent royal falcon to hold the position as the High King's personal pet.

An Incredible Incident

The reason that Inram is so famous, beyond the obvious prestige of his title, is an incident some three years ago. The High King had just returned from a recent war with the Lequelian Council when he retired that night, but assassins sent by the Council transported themselves into the High King's residence. However, they fortunately miscalculated and ended up in the top of the tower, where Inram quickly screeched and cawed, waking the royal family and alerting the guards. The Flamebrands in question were quite quickly arrested and later executed for their crimes, and the nation was saved a terrible fate. While the High King unfortunately was unable to give his beloved pet a knighthood or some other accolade, he was suitably fêted the following day, which is now a national holiday.

Daily Life and Care

Being the most famous animal in the entire Kingdom of the Falcon, Inram enjoys a very noble lifestyle. While the High King himself rarely gets the opportunity to train and hunt with his bird - such is the price for a realm at in such a tense peace - Inram is regularly given playtime due to the High King's Royal Falconer, a semi-inherited position in his household. He eats from some of the finest morsels of rabbit and badger that the Kingdom can provide, and rests in the same tower in Frecrest as the High King and his family. Whenever the king goes on excursions or campaigns, rest assured that the Companion of the King will be with him.
