Glintar

Build it, and they will come.
Sell it, and they will buy.
Protect it, or they will steal.

The city of Glintar used to be the jewel in the crown of the Kingdom of Felwasin, both in a literal sense and a figurative one. Being the home of some of the best jewellers the kingdom could attract, the city sent rings, necklaces, precious stones and other trinkets to lands throughout Renath. It was their pride and joy, and while it wasn't the capital city of the Kingdom, many considered it to be its centre.   That is, until the orcs attacked in the late days of the Post Degradation period. Glintar was one of their main targets, alongside Axegarden, and the orcs of the Lecherous Hand took the city after a hard-fought battle along the banks of the Felwan River. Now the orcs occupy the city, and while trade through the city is still relatively lucrative, many wish for the glory days of old.

All That Glitters

Glintar was originally settled by mining and masonry folk who made wonderful homes out of the clay of the nearby hills. Many of those homes still stand, and some of the most stunning buildings in town were made by their hands. But the trade goods that the city is known for throughout the world of Renath are its precious gems and jewelry.    Gems and precious metals from the mountains to the north are sent downriver, now in large barges guarded by orc patrols instead of dwarven caravans. They are then brought to the large gem market in the town square, where jewellers bid on shipments to supply their stores. They are then transformed through their craft into incredible works of art: golden filigree on book bindings, brilliant silver and gold rings, necklaces of pearls and sapphires, and things even more beautiful than those. These are then resold to merchant ships that dock on the riverside to be transported throughout the world.
