Darg

" 'One day, a traveller came into town accompanied by a strange animal. It looked like a horse, but it wasn't nearly tall enough and the stranger did not ride him. Instead, he carried a small orb in his hand that he used to lead the animal along, like one leads a horse with a carrot.   The children played with the animal, which loved the company and enjoyed jumping around with them. At one point, the traveller threw the orb off into a field and the creature ran after it.   The stranger called it a darg, and I'll never forget the sight of that cute little thing for as long as I live.' "   ~Égert Sarasté, Lost Tales of the Essic Countryside, Vol. 2

Basic Information

Anatomy

Quadruped with four long skinny legs, a fat belly, a head with long ears, and a short tail. Other specifics are determined by the breed of darg.

Genetics and Reproduction

Male and female versions of the species have a litter of dadagin, which are its babies. The gestation period is commonly five months.

Growth Rate & Stages

Dadagin are the babies of the dargin. They take about ten years to grow to maturity, wherein they grow from the size of a short dagger to regular size.

Ecology and Habitats

Dargin prefer large fields and pastures, like many other herbivores. At the same time, they can be found in all matter of climes and places if food can be found without too much difficulty.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Dargin eat grass and plants, but they are capable of eating meat if provided.
