Restless Body

Those who acquire the disease known as "Restless Body" are in for a terrible time. The malady spread through southern Kur'Taloth and even made it as far as the border to Vashira. It wasn't discovered until much later that it was infected livestock that had spread the disease to Isturians who had eaten the tainted meat.
Restless Body is, in fact, a brain disorder that causes unintended or uncontrollable movements, such as shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination. This is caused by abormal activity occuring within the brain. Symptoms will begin gradually but worsen significantly over time. As the disease progresses, those infected with Restless Body will have difficulty walking and talking. Eventually, the victim will stop being able to function normally and their brain and body will shut down. The disease has an unfortunately high mortality rate.
It's name comes from its early origins where it was misunderstood as a muscular disorder or a sign of mental illness. Either way, the assumption was a restlessness in either body or mind. Only once medical science had progressed was the nature and origin of the disease truly comprehended, and steps taken to stop its spread.
Nowadays, any sign of the initial stages of Restless Body trigger a quick and throrough purge of the infected livestock, so as to avoid a pandemic of critical proportions.

Symptoms

• Tingling, burning, or prickling in the face, hands, feet, and legs, however there are much more common illnesses that cause these same symptoms.
• Problems moving parts of the body, until a person is no longer able to walk.

Treatment

Unfortunately, there is no cure. An infected individual must ride out the symptoms for the rest of their life.
