With the race over and Barnabas's men gone or disgraced, the group prepared to head to Harthas Headstones to return the drakes head. But first, Zelem had kept numerous items to peddle to the rest of the group at a "friends and family discount" of ... full price. The rest were incredulous until Zelem revealed all of his silver items, and after a few side glances towards Morrigan, most decided to purchase a few.
Hartha greeted the party and was glad her cove was clear, and gave the group information on the mysterious man who was after them. Her people had learned some information and this was collaborated when Robin rejoined the group. The man was named Clement Barton and was new to the town, his men were careful to avoid the eyes of anyone important and had been scouting around. He had been working with Barnabas, and had occupied an old fort to the north in an inlet. There were three ships here, one unmarked cargo vessel, the pirate rat ship and one in the enormous cave beneath the fort that Pink guessed might be her old ship. Content with the information, the group departed to get vengeance on whomever had crossed them.
Upon arrival, a fort had indeed been renovated high above on the bluff. After Panic scouted as a cat and discussing their plan, the distracted the pirates with Morrigans undead and summoned bats and moved in. Using teleportation, invisibility and flight, the assault began on the backside of the fort. The initial confrontation began when a guard noticed Morrigan, and the battle began!
Mr. Plugg attacked along with some pirates but were easily dispatched, but a new sorceress got off a devastating lightning bolt in the narrow streets. After a few solid hits she tried to surrender, but Pink slaughtered her in a rage. Further combatants joined the fray, attacking from all directions. New pirates came and fled, Cut-throat Grok came down the western stairwell, Master Scourge attacked from the jail where a battered Sandara was in chains. A few of their men tried to surrender to Morrigan, but she feasted on their necks and the avatar of darkness drained them of their vitals.
The fight has only just begun!

Important Characters

Morrigan Oweland - Morrigan is a noble from the town of Saltmarsh. She serves the dark goddess Hecate who has transformed her servant into a fearsome creature of darkness, a Vampire.

Zelem - Tiefling, conman and swindler. He has numerous alter-egos and a strange dark patron. Recently a mysterious tortle has given him a quest to find a powerful artifact. He is unhappy with the recent notoriety he has gained.

Panic - A tiefling more like a moth than a devil, the charming Druid joins the group in an effort to save her beloved from a terrible affliction. She is weary about some of her new companions, but hopes that together they can help her.

Ruven - A trusty half-elf that has worked with Zelem in the past, after her adventures with the Snake God in the south she has ventured to the north with her friend Panic in an effort to aid her on her quest. She seems distrustful of the significantly more evil companions Zelem has found himself in the company of, but has reluctantly continued to journey with them.

Pink - Former captain of the Lady Matilda, she has been disposed by her old crew and seeks revenge. The ferocious Satyr carries a large pole-arm and hopes they can aid her in her desire to get her old ship back. Revenge is close at hand with Barnabas's officers on the island, and she hopes to use her new friendship with Captain Varossa Lanteri to board her old ship and slay the mutinous captain.

Danta - The Half-elf Bard has aided the Owelands in the past and is a friend of Morrigan. Having met an untimely death in the mysterious caves now controlled by Hector, the party has managed to resurrect their old friend who know has joined them on their adventures.

Avatar of Death - This mysterious, scythe wielding avatar of death has appeared numerous times to the party. When a murder is committed, a portal appears revealing the terrifying creature, who drains the victim of its vitality before returning to where it came. The party knows Morrigan has something to do with this but what purpose it serves is unknown.

Hartha - The dwarven carpenter Hartha is a bit dry, but can produce some of the finest woodworking found on the isle.

Mr. Plugg - The first mate of Captain Barnabas, he is a sadistic bully and enforcer of the law on the ship. He attempted to race against Pink in the Mad Dash, but was shoved over the cliff and failed to finish.

Cut-Throat Grok - Quartermaster of Captain Barnabas, she is a capable fighter and seemed surprised with how friendly pink was.

Master Scourge - Master-at-arms of Captain Barnabas, he is a sadist and despicable man who revels in inflicting pain.

Adelito Doloruso - A capable Wizard who had recently joined Barnabas's crew. She tried to surrender to pink, but was mercilessly struck down.

Sandara Quinn - Healer and medical officer of Captain Barnabas, she tried to be friendly with Pink but as she was still aboard captain Barnabas's crew was met with hostility. She claimed to not enjoy being with that lot, but was still aboard the crew.
