Snow and Adeline awoke early in the morning, with Ezri being awoken by Adeline shortly after. As the trio enjoyed breakfast, Adeline mused if all of Callister's essence had left the ring. To confirm, Ezri focused her mind on the ring's magic, and found a response in the form of the Halaster Blackcloak Errant Clone hotline. The confusing chain of questions eventually led to speaking to the Mad Mage himself (as well as a brief conversation with an entity called Hilda. Halaster explained that Callister was a failed clone and that Ezri could use the remaining power in the ring as her reward for besting him, satisfying the concerns of the party.
As if on queue for their post-adventure mornings, Arwyn arrived at the party's dorm. He informed the party that with their preliminary ley line hunts completed, they would be able to pursue their own magical endeavors more easily, with the professors helping them narrow down anything they needed in their quests. As an additional reward, the trio would be allowed to remodel their dorm to their liking, with the assistance of the Golem. Arwyn also requested that, should the party find themselves looking for a task, if they would look into assisting Zana and Nadya with their ley lines, as both had yet to do so on their own. Finally, before departing, Arwyn presented Ezri with the writings on wild magic he was able to gather.
The students began Adeline's introduction with Cirella's hut. As they approached, they heard the professor singing a song that she later described as 'nostalgic' for her. Cirella welcomed the new student to the academy and informed Ezri that her trial to advance her training was ready. The trial would involve the participants literally facing the essence of their magic, an idea that greatly interested Ezri. The party decided to hold off on this until they finished showing their new companion around campus.
The trio visited Raine's Armory next, feeling that her lessons would lean well into Adeline's areas of expertise. Their new friend did indeed seem intrigued by the ranger's teachings and made plans to start training soon. Raine also informed Snow that when she was ready to research her weapon, she would assist in determining the best resources to use. Next, the students visited Bellbrexilden's lab, with Ezri eager to see how the sheltered Adeline would respond to him. After some bewilderment over the mechanical gnome, the discussion shifted to Ezri acquiring more Wands of Fucking People Over, and Adeline reminding her companion that she was a skilled woodcarver and could assist in crafting wands, as well as small wooden ducks that Ezri had a fascination with.
Finally, the students returned to their dorm, where the Golem was awaiting them with building supplies. Utilizing his magic, the Golem instantly transformed the rooms into the shape the students had planned out. Adeline was surprised by the antithetical mage, but also seemed partial to his particular method of training. She intended to join Snow in her training with him in the future. The Golem also informed Snow that it was time for her to face a trial, surviving 30 seconds in a fight with him, and she was allowed to bring any companions she wished. While Ezri was hesitant to participate, she did decide to consider it later, when Snow was ready to take on her trial.
As the evening started, Ezri determined it was time for Adeline to learn the most important tradition of a mingling at the local tavern. At the Queen's Glaive, the trio ran into Sleight, Nox, Mary, and Lochlainn. The students talked about their experiences so far, with Sleight's trio bonding with Adeline over having attempted to kill Snow and Ezri. Nox also explained how he was working on a game that could be played using the Ley Orb and Ley Poles that he was tentatively calling "Orb Ball." Adeline also tried her first alcoholic drink, which she was not especially fond of, though she did enjoy a bit of mead. Urshar Frostbrand also had the students test out the watermelon ale that some other Frostbrand dwarves had been experimenting with.
Ezri turned out to be the only one who could hold her drink, with Snow and Adeline needing assistance back to the dorm. Mary helped to carry Snow and informed Ezri that she was fine with them trusting Adeline with her secret if she seemed trustworthy enough. As Ezri prepared to go to bed, she was stopped by Eo Nee, who forced herself to apologize to Ezri for needing to invoke the Lantern King's name. While still maintaining an air of disdain, Eo let it slip that she liked her life with Ezri more than what came before it and wanted her to stay safe.
