07 - 03/10/25 : Days of Rest

Ezri and Snow awoke to their usual morning routine. During breakfast, Arwyn arrived with more information about Ezri's ley line. He explained that it was not only a ley line of abjuration, but also an elemental nexus point, where energy from all four elemental planes converged. He had also looked into the history of the region and learned that the ley line was on an abandoned wizard tower, meaning that it should be free of danger. Ezri and Snow had their doubts, believing that an abandoned tower could still have plenty of danger, but Arwyn remained optimistic on the safety of the upcoming adventure.
The students decided to start their training with Arwyn, who taught the duo some tricks for note taking. Seeing his vast library of study, Ezri also asked if Arwyn had anything written by others with her kind of chaotic magic, which Arwyn agreed to look into for her. While training with the Golem, Snow's teacher asked her to think about a more specific goal than just becoming stronger to pursue. Snow had to think about this, but for now, she settled on making the magic sword she had claimed from the trolls stronger. To this end, the Golem suggested that she pick up the trade of blacksmithing and speak to Bellbrexilden and Raine, as both were skilled in the art of empowering weapons. Ezri and Snow improved their mastery of the lessons they learned with Cirella and the Golem respectively. Before finishing their academic pursuits, both students took a few lessons from Bellbrexilden, with Ezri learning the basics of arcane forging techniques and Snow quickly taking to the tools of the blacksmithing trade.
On one evening of their school life, the duo decided to visit the Queen's Glaive and ran into Nadya and Xiuying as they did. The students discussed their various ley lines and their adventures thus far. Nadya said she had no intention of seeking hers out, since it was tied to Celestial magic, and explained that because of the low student count, it was unlikely that she would be expelled. Xiuying felt this was a boring choice to make and was excited to see his ley line, which was tied to Luck Magic.
As the evening winded down, Ezri had a private conversation with Nadya. She shared with the aasimar her admiration for the demon lord, Nocticula, while making it clear this did not extend to worship. She felt that Nocticula's ambition and defiance of the status quo of demon society were worthy of praise, and that these aspects reminded her of Nadya's philosophy. While Nadya had some hesitation about showing favoritism towards any planar deities, she was amused at the comparison and promised not to tell anyone else about this fact.
The student finally felt prepared to take on Ezri's ley line, beginning their journey to the town of Umberghast. On the way, they ran into some basilisks and ankheg fighting over territory. While Ezri was cautious about getting involved in the fight, the time it would take to detour overpowered her usual instinct. She used the Wand of Fucking People Over on the basilisks, causing them to be covered in a Fairy Fire spell. This not only didn't draw attention to the party, but gave the ankheg an advantage. As the ankheg finished slaying their foes, the party moved in on the now weakened monsters and defeated them, allowing them to continue on their path.

Ezri Flickerwick - A gnome sorceror with wild, untamed magic. She seeks control of both her own magic as well as the power gained from a mysterious source. She has no ambitions for greatness and just wants to control her magic to live a normal life.

Snow - A tiefling with a history of martial combat. She started to develop a natural skill for magic and now seeks to master this ability as she does with the weapons she wields.

Nessali - A yuan-ti druid whose power and ego are very highly developed for their age.

Arwyn Halliwell - A human wizard studying Ley Lines at Everlight. He was chosen to be the headmaster, mostly because he was the only one willing to put in work to organize the school. Numblestump Bellbrexilden - A deep gnome artificer whose brain has been implanted into a mechanical body. He teaches at Everlight while pursuing his own artificery research.

Cirella the Phantom Eye - A half-elf witch who studies ways to heighten the power of spellcasters. She desires to bring out the potential hidden in her students.

The Golem - A human wizard who's study involves perfecting the body in concert with the mind.

Nadya - An aasimar sorcerer born with innate celestial magic. She hates the idea of having a destiny she's meant to fulfill and fights against any possibility of this coming to pass.

Xiuying - A half-dragonborn bard who came from Zha'en seeking adventure and tales worth telling. They're very curious about their fellow students and not afraid to pry.
