06 - 03/03/25 : Bridge Over Troubled Water

After having spent several days preparing, Ezri informed Snow that she was ready to head out for Snow's ley line. The duo collected Nessali and began their journey on the stablewright pulled wagon. On the first day of their journey, they ran into a traveling merchant who had a few magic items on sale. Unfortunately, Snow didn't have the money for the items she was eying and verbally considering robbing the merchant. The merchant, upon hearing this, fled and Ezri had a long talk with Snow about her so-called 'pillaging,' with no help from Nessali, who only agreed that it would bring trouble to Fortune's Crossing. That evening, Nessali and Snow made camp and hunted some provisions while the party discussed their journey thus far.   The next day, the party encountered a topaz dragon flying overhead that seemed to have taken notice of them as possible prey. Ezri managed to control her wild magic enough to partially cloak the wagon, and with Snow's experienced guidance, they were able to evade the scion of decay. The rest of the day passed remarkably tranquilly in comparison. On the final day of their trip, the wagon passed under a grove of orange trees which the party gathered from before continuing on their way. The stablewrights arrived at their destination, a bridge that had seen a bloody attack upon it recently. Snow followed the path of carnage and her ley orb's guidance, finding a cave beneath the bridge.   The inside of the cave was filled with a disgusting odor and led to a rickety pathway over a pit of spikes and feces. Remembering the warning Zana had given her about spike pits, Ezri opted to search for a different path, noting the large, flat boulder on one wall of the tunnel. Snow moved the boulder without much difficulty, finding a secret entrance beneath it. As they continued along this new path, they came across a young troll and some trollkin preparing food. The party got the drop on these adversaries, taking control of the battlefield with a Web spell from Nessali, Snow's iron defenses, and Ezri's aerial assault of fire. One trollkin shaman managed to escape with the use of Meld into Stone, but the party quickly routed the rest of their foes.   Continuing their exploration, the duo encountered a halfling merchant who had been left alive after the rest of his caravan had been massacred on the bridge. He mentioned that there was a key for his shackles somewhere in the lair, along with the honey his group had been intending to sell, which he would gladly let the party keep. They were able to find the key and release the merchant, helping him out of the cave and offering him a ride back to Fortune's Crossing.   As the mages continued navigating the cave, Nessali warned the others that one path was infested with yellow mold. Taking the other route, they found a pair of trolls wrestling with a ferocity that even their powerful regeneration had trouble keeping up with. Ezri decided to take advantage of their distraction with her Wand of Fucking People Over, which resulted in the fiery explosions she always feared instead blasting the two trolls to cinders. With the threat cleared, the party continued investigating the alcove and found the merchant's supply of honey and a locked chest, which they claimed for themselves.   At the end of the tunnel, the students found Snow's ley line, with a troll who had been absorbing its destructive energy for some time. Ezri tried her wand once more, but this time only managing to cause a heavy rainstorm within the arena. Combat ensued, with Snow tapping into her ley line and drawing its destructive force upon the troll leader. After a dangerous melee, Snow claimed victory over her foe, slaying the troll and claiming her sword seeped in destructive magic for herself.   The party grabbed the chest and sent the merchant on his way, then used the Scrolls of Recall to return on their own. Arwyn helped the party open the chest with a Knock spell, letting them claim the spoils of their adventure without any fee for his assistance.
Ezri Flickerwick - A gnome sorceror with wild, untamed magic. She seeks control of both her own magic as well as the power gained from a mysterious source. She has no ambitions for greatness and just wants to control her magic to live a normal life.
Snow - A tiefling with a history of martial combat. She started to develop a natural skill for magic and now seeks to master this ability as she does with the weapons she wields.
Nessali - A yuan-ti druid whose power and ego are very highly developed for their age.
Arwyn Halliwell - A human wizard studying Ley Lines at Everlight. He was chosen to be the headmaster, mostly because he was the only one willing to put in work to organize the school.
