While the group had handled the smugglers, if this house was to ever be habitable any other threats would also need to be cleared out. Tired from a weary day of battle and pest control, the group decided to rest for the night before investigating further.
The groups hostage finally woke up and introduced himself as Lucky, an unfortunate man who seemed to have had a life-long streak of bad luck. He appeared to be a new-comer to the smugglers, and did not have a lot of useful information to give regarding their operation. The party informed Lucky that he worked for them now, and sent him off into the night back to Saltmarsh with a few gold to pick up some food.
At dawn, the group grabbed up their gear and set off to clear the rest of the house. On the lower level, Tifa made some noise upon opening the door and the group heard a familiar voice cry out for aid. It seems that Lucky had left the house and immediately fallen into the well! Thankfully for him the party hoisted him out, and sent him on his blustering way once again.
Back in the kitchen the group inspected the cupboards to find a nest of giant centipedes had made it their home. Their poison was enough to paralyze Tifa for over an hour, but eventually the nasty bugs were exterminated. Next the other rooms on the first floor were cleared, only finding a horde of spiders to resist them. With the first floor secure, next the upper floors awaited them. The first few rooms contained almost nothing useful, and it seemed that most of this house was abandoned. However after returning venturing to the east side of the house, one room contained two enormous swarms of spiders! The party struggled with the insect swarms, but after a long and hard fight managed to squish enough of them that the remainder scattered into the floorboards.
With most of the house clear, the group ascended to the attic and slew a nest of Stirges that had taken up residence. Since it was still early and with their mission complete, the party decided to depart to Saltmarsh and report their success.
On the way back, the group passed a rough man who was twirling a gold coin. After some prying, they figured that he had taken it from Lucky and Tifa sucker-punched him. The man dropped cold, and as expected the party found their unlucky companion up the road. They helped him gather himself, and escorted him the rest of the way to Saltmarsh.
Back in town, the group found that the bandit they had taken prisoner earlier awaited the executioners block. For the crimes of banditry she was hung, and Tifa used the opportunity to snag a coin purse from one of the unsuspecting people in front of her. Lastly the group departed to The Empty Net where they hoped to meet their employer and receive their reward.
