05 - 3/1 : Sorrows Sworn

Believing that Donavich was up to no good, the group decided to wait it out and see if the priest acted. In the middle of the night, Wixley set a bat out as a sentinel and when Donavich entered the main hall it shrieked! He quickly ran back into his room, and before the group could breach the door he had departed towards town. Thankfully he proved an easy target to track, and seemed to double back to the church.
The group confronted him, quickly subdued him and interrogated him. It turned out that his son was trapped in the basement and he had intended to feed Qiao to satiate him! The group descended into the basement to find the Vampire spawn, and was easily about to destroy the creature from outside its cage.
Donavich knew he had done wrong, and though in despair about the wickedness he had done, was given the chance to repent by the group. He agreed to do all he could to repent for his sins, and the group finished off their rest. As a token of goodwill, Donavich told the group of the local shopkeep Bildrath. He normally would only provide adventuring supplies, but if they claimed to be friends of the priest and against the vampire Morrigan, the merchant could provide access to various magic items, for a price.
On the way to the shop, the group happened upon two villagers fighting. One claimed that the other had stolen his Dream Pastry, while the other denied it. He was so angry over it that it caused suspicion in the group, and after a bit of intimidation by judge they were willing to depart. It seemed someone named Morgantha had sold them the addictive pastries and they provided bliss and escape from the bleak world of Barovia, but also caused them to be desperate to acquire more.
This was a problem for another time, however, and the group continued on to Bildraths Mercantile. Inside the group made their introduction and were given access to many of his wares. Numerous items and consumables were bought, and finally the group continued out of town and towards Tser Pool Camp to meet the Vistani leader.
Along the way the group got to know each other better, talked about what had led them here, the problems they faced and their own unique struggles. Ireena and Ismark shared in, and while they had been through a lot were at least hopeful about their new company. A thick fog began to roll in, causing most of the party to revisit some of their regrets and losses. That night as camp was set, each shared some of the memories that the fog had brought up. Unfortunately this attracted the attention of some Sorrowsworn, who attacked!
The Wretched were ferocious enemies, but the strength of the party held out as they were defeated. The group continued with their rest, and prepared to make the final length of the journey to Tser Pool.

Portraits

Wixley - The small halfling fights with bow and is an expert in dealing with undeath. Her expertise and abilities will prove a great asset against the foes to come.

Fabian - A powerful sorcerer overflowing with magic, the aasimar sorcerer brings a potent suite of spells to the table to take down all foes.

Judge - The stoic worshipper of Muir, his combat expertise and righteousness leads the group to glory against all evil assailants who would dare challenge the group.

Katrina - A knight and supporter of the Akadian pact, Katrina fights with Sword and spell as a battle wizard.

Qiao Tai - An astral monk from the distant realms of the Xha'en Hegemony, she has traveled far and found herself in the lands of Barovia. After resting at the Church of Solanus, she heard the commotion in the graveyard and quickly rushed to the groups defense to fight off Morrigan's undead. She now joins their group in the crusade against the vampire.

Ismark 'the Lesser' Kolyana - Ismark was met in the Village of Barovia, Morrigan had become infatuated with his sister to some unknown sinister end, and feared for her life. He and his sister are now being escorted by the party to the nearby town of Vallaki for safety.

Ireena Kolyana - The adopted sister of Ismark, she has been bitten twice by Morrigan and fears for her life. She knows not what the horrible vampire might want from her, but hides in her home in desperation, hoping for someone to lead her to safety. Her and her brother have joined the party who now seeks to protect her at all cost, and are preparing to journey to Vallaki.

Donavich - The priest of the temple of Solanus, it was discovered that his son had been turned into a vampire thrall after an ill-fated march on Castle Ravenloft under the banner of "The Orator". Doru had returned and been captured, but Donavich had been unable to cure his son and been feeding him villagers! This despicable deed led to the church being unconsecrated, and though he had done much wickedness in the name of his son, the group decided the best punishment was to let him live and repent for his ways.

Doru - The son of Donavich and former friend of Ireena, he had marched off to castle Ravenloft and was turned into a vampire. When he returned he was captured, and being unable to "fix" him had been kept in a cage. He was finally slain by the party after being found in the churches basement.

Bildrath Cantemir - The owner of Bildraths Mercantile, after claiming to be enemies of Morrigan he opened up his magic items to purchase for the group.
