The Obstinate Bazaar

The gleaming obsidian spires that lance up from the dark stone of Aqshy's Heart are the tips of the grand trading halls of the Obstinate Bazaar. Here, under the meticulous eye of Runemason Horsk. The many floors of the bazaar range from the deep forges echoing with the clangour of hammers to the dizzying heights of the spires alive with the sound of the scorching winds.

The Port

At the physical and metaphorical centre of the magmahold - for it is still a magmahold at heart - is the bustling lava port. A wide cavern constantly lit in the light of several channeled lava flows which serve as docking bays for goods and people to arrive and depart. The rightmost section of the port serves as the docking bay, where goods are packed and unpacked from the lava barges - under the careful supervision of the Vulkite sentinels. From here boxes of weapons and raw minerals head for the far corners of the Archipelago. People arrive at an area of the port sectioned off from the docking bay, and are directed through torch-lined halls and corridors up into the bazaar.

The Bazaar

Above the level of the port, the trading halls of the bazaar begin, here the rooms and halls are a majestic showcase of the skill of the Runemasons, and Horsk in particular. Intricately carven ceilings and beautiful stone columns line every room, and further up through the bazaar stone and transition to rooms of shining volcanic glass decorated with cut crystals, here the most renowned craftspeople sell their wares amongst the beautifully decorated halls. There are hundreds of stalls and shops throughout the bazaar, from the fyreslayers own, to those of the myriad other peoples that brave the heat to sell in such a lucrative market. Here are selling the beautiful, artisanal wares of the smiths of Avizarr to the practical and deadly weapons from the Ash-Fall forges and many besides. Many races rent stalls here, selling their wares and taking advantage of the custom generated by the reputation of the bazaar, most prominently the fey peoples of the Haethen Court, who sell their beautiful and magical items from many of the highest, and most important rooms of the spires.

Runemason Horsk

Horsk is the ruler of the Obstinate Bazaar, but, as is his want as a Runemason - the great architects and stone workers of the Gryndrn Lodge - it was also largely designed by him, and built under his supervision. He is a pragmatic and practical ruler, but detests the day to day runnings of the bazaar, often handing the accounting, and dealing with any issues, to his advisor and Master of Oaths, Traskholf.
